the flesh covers the bone
and they put a mind
in there and
sometimes a soul,
and the women break
vases against the walls
and the men drink too
much
and nobody finds the
one
but keep
looking
crawling in and out
of beds.
flesh covers
the bone and the
flesh searches for more than
flesh.
there's no chance
at all: we are all trapped
by a singular
fate.
nobody ever finds
the one.
the city dumps fill
the junkyards fill
the madhouses fill
the hospitals fill
the graveyards fill
nothing else
fills.
----Charles Bukowski----
I really like the title & the amazing contradiction of words which prove to be accurate at the same time.

-Sam.

Truly spectacular.
Someady you're letting me into your poetry archive.. :)
Charles Bukowski: "The Poet Laureate of Skid Row". That's somethin'.
I don't know about fate, but I do often think that we have little if at all any choice. Whenever I think of choice I think of Judas, and the role "he had" to play.
However, I am confused by the chaos around us, and the repetition of it all.
Yes, add to that:
"the prisons fills" (to over crowding)
It seems we are going back to the good old slave, and master days- wealth is supreme and rules without rein.
@ Clouds,
Umm..well, there are many poems I like & I can post them in my blogs also, but, I don't get the necessary time.
@ Sean,
Talking about the master-slave thing, we ALWAYS were a slave before money, if someone has got the money, he has the world in his hands.
its Charles Bukowski.
the dude is a freaking legend.
N
@ Nothingman,
I know, his poems are worth all posting in here as I love most of them, but, then, people would say its "Charles Burowski's Blog" & not mine. :)
-Sam.
